See this guy? Recognize him? Sure you do. Of COURSE you do! If you have ever flipped through the hundreds of channels of dreck on your cable TV, this is a face you have seen, a voice you have heard and thought to yourself:
"Damn, Skippy, how do I get a sweet job like that?"
Well, you pencil-necked geek, this is Jim Cornette. In two short video clips, Jim Cornette speaks more truth than you have heard in any Sunday Squawkfest in the history of mankind, stand-alone or in aggregate.
Jim Cornette is a wrestling manager. In professional wrestling. Not exactly the place where one expects to find:
1. Trenchant, courageous and insightful political analysis far superior in content and quality from any of the squawking heads and political "strategists"(Washington shorthand for "out of a job and will lie for food") one sees clogging up the airways and cable bandwidth of this nation, generally displaying powers of incoherence far in excess of mere mortal men and women. Living in a world with not even the most distant relationship to the normative realities of life faced by us, the one-fodder-units.
2. The Truth. Professional Wrestling is not particularly know as a bastion of truth and veracity. It is more well known for the amount of well-manicured and flawlessly-presented bovine-generated organic effluent it produces and very dead former stars. Usually found in a remote hotel room, surrounded by bottles of prescription medications and in a rather advanced state of putrifaction. Being discardible does have its downside.
Jim Cornette is playing the truth version of a Keith Moon drum solo in these clips.
That is what makes the next two videos all the more incredible. This is a two-part rant of such celerity, such honesty, such clarity and such procreative nodules that it rates right up there on the fist-pumping quotient with The Who's "Won't Get Fooled Again" on "The Kids are Alright" and Motorhead's "Ace of Spades" or Blackfoot's "Train Train". To put it in common parlance: This is THE shit.
Memo to Dr. Rachel Maddow and Keith Olbermann: Enough with the same tired talk show jobbers and Washington ham n' eggers you have on your show. Here he is. The real deal. The one and only. The truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. This man can do a Texas Death Match with Limbaugh, Beck, O'Reilly...name 'em. And walk away with the belt.
Memo to Matt Taibbi: Jim Cornette talks like you write. Go sit at his feet to learn to go on TV and talk like you write. Enough with the "nice young man" schtick. You need to learn to ram the truth down the average throat like Jim Cornette. I mean, you got punked by a woman with the apparent IQ of an icecube on Joey Scar's show. Next time, borrow Cornette's tennis racket and hit her with it.
Jim Cornette is the best spokesman the left has ever had. Amazing.
